There are a few people on this earth that actually
radiate peace and joy, wisdom and Godliness. Emma is the one
of the best examples I have of one who radiated this where
ever she went. I will never understand why the world suffered
such a loss but the affect in the lives that she's touched
will ripple into the next generation. She's left a legacy
of changed lives.

My deepest sympathies to the family. I was as high
school classmate of Emma's and she was a great person and
school mate. It was great seeing her again after many years
at our Class reunion last month. I know she will be missed.

Emma worked as an agent in the condo community where
my sister Lisa Helton purchased in Acworth, GA. This was a
very difficult time in Lisa's life since she was in the midst
of bitter divorce. Lisa was not only distraught, she was terrified
of her inexperience in purchasing a home by herself. This
is where Emma used her incredible gift of comforting Lisa
by helping her find the perfect condo and explain all of her
finncing options. Of course being her brother and a realtor
myself, I was VERY skeptical and kept telling Lisa to make
sure there were no catches. Everthing seemed to good to be
true. Not only was I wrong, I was very impressed how smoothly
everything went for Lisa. I will never forget the first day
Lisa had called to tell me about the development she had found,
and this very nice realtor working. Thank you for taking care
of my sister.

I met Emma 6 years ago. At the time my sister, Jo
Anna was living with her while attending ministry school.
My first impression was like most others have of her, What
an awesome lady. Later I moved down to attend ministry school
myself, and my opinion of her has continued to grow. She has
been an encourager to me to hold the faith, even in the most
difficult times. I have watched her, through her own trials
and struggles, hold her head up and continue to smile. She
was an incredible example of the type of woman, wife, and
Christian, that I aspire to be. After I married her nephew
Ben, I not only saw her live the life in church, but with
her family. She has always been a spiritual compass to all
around her.
She was always the life of the party, and usually planning
it. She helped plan my baby shower, she coordinated both mine
and my sister's weddings. And anytime we got together we couldn't
just have dinner we always had to play games or something
fun. She has always had a sense of humor. I have heard the
stories of the practical jokes she used to pull. My favorite
is of how we actually got HER.
Right after Emma and Chris were married, Ben, Joanna, her
husband Craig, and I snuck into their house set all of their
clocks ahead an hour. And then hid in the closet until they
returned from swimming. We scared them terribly, especially
since we made the mistake of hiding in their bedroom closet
and not thinking of them coming in and taking off their swimsuits.
HA HA
She thought THAT was the joke. Until the next morning. When
they got in the car they saw their clock was an hour slower
than all of her other clocks. But instead of figuring it out
they got into a tift, because Chris had been messing with
the battery the day before and he "must have messed it
up" because now her clock was running an hour slow. They
did not figure it out until they got to church and no one
was there yet. They were an hour early!! She laughed so hard
and swore to get us back. I don't know that she ever did,
but we sure watched our backs for a long time.
I am going to miss her dearly and hate that my daughters,
Emily and Anna, will not be able to know one of their greatest
spiritual legacies until Heaven.
Thank you Emma AND Chris for all you have done and been in
mine and Ben's life. I pray we can make you proud.

Christ's spirit in her made her so precious and beautiful.
She always encouraged and there never seemed to be boundaries
and limits to dreams and hearts desires. I loved her sense
of humour and love for life. Our favourite was, "we're
going to have a porkie tonight!" (potjie) South African
dish. My kiddies adored her and she was their Aunty America!
We love you Emma and will always remember you. I know Jesus
is smiling and adoring you. God bless you!
